Correspondence

Letter from Thomas Jefferson Whitman to Jessie Louisa Whitman, 23 December 1888

Milwaukee, Dec. 23 1888

My dear Jessie

A Merry Christmas to you—

I enclose a little momento as I could not let the day go by without reminding you that I thought of you

I hope you will like the muffler—I did not know but I thought perhaps this would suit your ideas—

Again a Merry, Merry Christmas—and I feel sad that I cannot be with you

Papa
Tos. J. Whitman
