Starry Union

See! See! see! how where the sun is blazing streaming beaming !
See! See! see! all the bright stars shining gleaming !
North, or South, or Westward in order beaming moving loving
all Equal all Including, folding,
Union all! O its Union all!

This manuscript was written in 1876.
Editorial note
"Starry Union" was never published in Whitman's lifetime, though several different draft forms exist. A revision of these lines appears in the unpublished manuscript poem entitled "Hands Ro[und]."
On the verso is a letter from F. H. Mann requesting Whitman's autograph, dated 11 February 1876.
