Finding aids from individual repositories offer descriptions of collections of original Whitman poetry manuscripts that are located in over thirty distinct archival repositories. The finding aids provide information about these particular manuscripts and briefly describe associated materials, such as correspondence, photographs, and other primary source materials.
The Integrated Guide describes all of Whitman's poetry manuscripts individually, noting their relationships to his published works and providing repository location information. Significant work on item-level descriptions is still underway, so please check back regularly to note updates of our encoded collections. Please direct comments or questions about the Integrated Guide or other resources to Brett Barney or Kenneth M. Price.
